Seeking a Millionaire

“I want a man who’s kind and understanding. Is that too much to ask of a millionaire?” – Zsa Zsa Gabor
Forget about equal rights! Feminism is an old joke; I don’t care about a man’s advantages, as long as they are in a safe deposit box!
As funny as it seems, money is one of the required qualities of men. If you could hear most women’s conversations about the characteristics of the man they would like to marry, it would sound something like this: “I’d like him to be handsome, smart, funny and caring; of course, if he’s rich, that’s better”.
Why do women prefer marrying rich men?
- First of all, it’s a matter of security. Besides the sense of power, money gives us a sense of safety. After all, don’t power and safety go hand in hand? It’s really simple: if your husband has a lot of money, you or your children will never go hungry.
- It’s in our nature. People have a habit of always trying to explain their choices. For a woman’s decision “to try marring a rich guy”, an argument like “because my mother told me so” is stock and rather stupid. But we can easily blame nature. Just see what happens in wild life. Females pick the stronger males to have their little ones. And as money tends to define power in our society, rich men come first.
- According to research, women that manage to snag a millionaire are happier. Money can offer many opportunities for the wife and kids as well. Working is an optional decision for the woman, and even if she does work, she doesn’t have to be over-stressed about it. But, can money buy happiness or love?
And are there any women that marry someone just because he is rich? Well, there are. And they end up cheating on their husbands with a lover that “supports them emotionally”.
And if that seems pathetic to you…read on.
Just out of curiosity I did a bit of research on the subject. Here is what I found:
Blogs full of men’s confessions about girls they lost to men that had nothing more than money. And they kept wondering. Well, really, which one seems more attractive? A cute, smart guy with a really good job and promising career, who is interested in everything you have to say when he cooks your dinner, or the same guy with a moderate job and no career prospects?
There are approximately 478.000 Google results for “seeking a millionaire” and enough sites about sugar babies who are ready to make a beauty for money offer and sugar daddies who offer money in return of companionship. By the way, did you know that there are about 1000 single millionaires in any area?
And last but not least, all those gurus of how to seduce a millionaire or marry the man’s money. They are there, willing to tell you everything you need to know in order to bring money into your life. Tips like: you have to move where they live even if you have to stay in a dog’s house; sooner or later you will absorb their habits and you will be one of them. They also tell you what to wear, how you should act, where you should hang out, which events you should join to meet them; for example you can volunteer in charities where you can mingle with rich men.
And I keep wondering… what about political movements, theories and moral philosophies like feminism? Were all these fights for nothing? Can’t women earn their money the right way anymore? As Ginie Polo Sayles, author of How to Marry Rich said: they can, but they but they can do it faster with a man.
