Health is a priceless gift. Here are some tips to improve it.
1. Eat healthy foods.
Which foods are considered to be healthy?
- Add as many fruits and vegetables as you can to your diet. Replace meat with fish, lentils and olive oil.
- Do not just eat once or twice a day – divide your meals into 5 smaller parts. Remember: breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so let it be your daily feast.
- Eat sardines, blackfish or tuna at least 3 times a week.
- Drink one glass of wine every day.
- Reduce the amount of salt you eat on an everyday basis.
- Drink as much water as you can
- You should consume olive oil, honey, onion, garlic, carrots, oranges, tomatoes, yogurt, dried fruits and dark chocolate regularly.
2. Say “no” to smoking.
If you are a smoker, it is twice as likely to get a heart attack, and about 20 times more likely to be infected by lung cancer.
3. Have you had your check up yet?
Do not forget to go for your annual check up. A good check up on your health can keep you from unpleasant surprises.
4. Smile!
As simple as it sounds, smiling is an effective way to protect your health. Endomorphines are released every time you smile, which reduce the feeling of fatigue and create a state of euphoria. You’ll stop feeling tired even if you had an exhausting day. Smiling is medicine indeed!
5. Don’t keep your hugs to yourself.
Hugging those you love is not only a way to express your feelings but it’s also good for health. Believe it or not, every hug gives you some minutes of life.
6. Taste something new!
Even if it sounds strange, every new taste you try, adds a few minutes of life as well!
7. Work out!
30 minutes of physical exercise every day are good enough to keep you healthy! You burn extra calories; plus, this exercise will protect you from cardiovascular problems.
8. Sleep well
Don’t you feel fresh and new every time you wake up after a deep sleep? Try to sleep at least 8 hours per day. That will bring out all the beauty God blessed you with, and will also improve your health.
9. Learn to love yourself
This simple and effective advice is usually not accounted for. But it’s true – if you grace yourself, the favor will be returned to you. After all, everything is a matter of mentality. If you feel well, you will be well. What can you do for yourself?
- Keep your mind busy. Read as many books as you can. Make some art of your own. Find a new hobby. Don’t forget to go on a trip at least once per year.
- Don’t worry that much about everyday problems.
- Do not fall into a rut. Go out, have fun, flirt. Go to the spa once in a while or practice “shopping therapy”! Do whatever makes you feel good.
Don’t forget to love yourself, and you will be healthier!
