How To Clean Your House

There comes a time in your life that you become old enough to leave your home. Even if you have to go away for studies, or you found a new job far from your parent’s house, you’ll always face a dilemma: Are you ready to exchange your mom’s delicious home made food and your dad’s warm hugs and wise words with all the difficulties of being “out there”?

When I first moved out for a place of my own, one of the worst problems I faced after living alone for a week or so was housework! Cleaning my house was torture; it seemed like hellish penance. But after several years on my own, I have to tell you: cleaning a house is not as hard as it seems.First of all, you should clean one room at a time. Be iron-handed and nit-picky. Choose the order of the rooms you have to clean and always follow it. That will save you a lot of time!If it’s time to clean your house but you have no idea on how to start… Do not fret. Here you will find a list of what you need to do, and believe me - you will find it easy at the end!

  • Mission: Kitchen

Have you already used the last dish in your cupboard? Have you run out of those extra plastic cups? It is time to start washing the dishes!
You need: 1 dish-washing detergent, 2 sponges, 1 scourer and a dry cloth.

Step one: First of all you, start washing cups and glasses. Use one sponge for the glasses and the other one for the dishes. When you are done with the glasses, wash the dishes; do the cutlery last.
Step two: Dampen the cloth and clean the counter-top and oven. For the oven, use appropriate detergent.
Step three: Put some soap on a wet cloth and start cleaning the kitchen fitments and refrigerator.

Now your kitchen is clean - you don’t want even to remember the way it looked before. Don’t let it get that messy again. Just set a goal: let’s say that every time you have 10 dirty glasses in your kitchen, start washing them! This will save you a lot of time.

  • Mission: Living room

Does your living-room look like it has been bombed? Did last night’s gathering register as an F4 tornado? It’s time to make your living room a place you can relax and enjoy your coffee again!

You need: Window detergent, a detergent for furniture and a dry cloth.

Step one: First of all, gather all the garbage you’ll find everywhere (like empty sodas or cigarette packs) and throw them in the garbage.
Step two: You may start with cleaning the furniture. Use the dry cloth to wipe them. Pour detergent on them and start scrubbing. (You know, the way your mother used to).
Don’t try to fool yourself; furniture is clean, if you clean it top-down! So you need to bend over a little - no worries; after all, some exercise is always nice!

  • Mission: Bedroom

Step one: Remove all the sheets and pillowcases. What’s more, put any dirty clothes you’ll find in the hamper.
Step two: Start cleaning the furniture like you did in the living room.
Step three: Now it’s time for fresh sheets and new pillowcases. Make sure that you change your sheets and the pillowcases every once a week.

  • Mission: bathroom

I would like to inform you that this is the hardest mission of all. So wear your gloves and let’s get the party started!

You Need: 3 sponges, bleach, a sweeper, a pair of gloves and disinfectant.

Step one: Remove everything little from your bathroom, like perfumes, spray deodorants, toothpaste and toothbrushes, towels etc.
Step two: Full a plastic basin with bleach, water, and disinfectant soap. Sink the first sponge in the basin and start scrubbing the mirror with it.
Step three: Sink the second sponge in the basin and start cleaning the bath tub and the tiling.
Step four: Start cleaning the toilet bowl using the last sponge - and make sure that you will use a lot of bleach!
Step five: Are you ready to get wet? You need to start rinsing all the soap you can see around. Then, take the sweeper and lead all the waters into the drain trap.
Step six: Wait until the water is gone until you put back all the things you’ve removed.

  • Mission: Windows

No matter how much clean your house, it won’t look clean if your windows are dirty!
You need: a plastic bucket, window detergent, a cloth and a newspaper.

Step one: Pour a lot of water and the window detergent into the bucket
Step two: Dip the cloth into the bucket and start scrubbing your windows.
Step three: Use the newspaper to remove excess water.

  • Mission: Sweeping-Mopping

You are almost done! This is your final mission.
You need: a plastic bucket, a sweeper, a mop, some floor detergent and bleach.

Step one: Start with sweeping. Remove all your furniture so you can sweep behind the furniture, too. Now, don’t be lazy!
